Mark Your Calendars for November 3 -- NJ General Election

On November 3, 2009 we will have the opportunity to cast votes for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, all 80 Assembly seats, and Senators for two districts. In order to determine where candidates stand on a variety of animal issues, LOHV-NJ has sent questionnaires to all candidates asking for their opinions on pending bills and their position on a bear hunt.

Responses will be compiled, along with voting records of those currently holding office, and made available on this site. So, stay tuned!

Right now, please be sure you are registered to vote. Even if you registered some time ago, a name or address change requires that you register again.

All the information you need can be found at the League of Women Voters of New Jersey Web site: http://www.lwvnj.org/elections/#edate

The Web site provides a wealth of information, but if you need clarification or help with any aspect, please call The League of Women Voters: 609/394-3303.

Here are the deadlines:

  • October 13, 2009 - Last day to register or change voting address for general elections.
  • October 27, 2009 - Deadline for mailed application for mail-in ballot to County Clerk.
  • November 2, 2009 - 3 PM deadline for applying for a mail-in ballot in person at the County Clerk's office.
Please be sure you are registered. The animals need our voices and our votes!
